Prevention is Better than Cure

Prevention is Better than Cure

Media advertisement has really made a huge impact on our everyday life.

What the television and the internet advertise can largely affect our mind, that is if we allow them.

We adapt to the changes brought by industrialization.  But we usually forget the basics.

Why?

Because the changes bring instant solutions which are easier to engage in, with little or no effort needed.

The statement “Prevention is Better Than Cure” has now become obsolete.

Yes, we are aware of its importance but it just became superficial and faded over time.

Yet with the current rise of several lifestyle illnesses, the statement has never been more relevant than today. How can we protect ourselves now?

How can we PREVENT such things to happen? Or how can we even minimize its occurrence? Or lessen its severity?

PRACTICE PROPER HYGIENE & SANITATION

The human physical hygiene is supposed to be automatic or normal habit.  But this has been neglected until this global health situation came.

As we observe this on ourselves, can we extend it to our environment? We are not animals that just throw their waste anywhere they want. We are humans with a rational mind so let’s use it. We should dispose of garbage properly.  Better yet segregate, reuse, recycle, repurpose or dispose of garbage properly.

REFRAIN FROM OLD NEGATIVE HABITS

How is our upbringing? It reflects on the things that we do.

As we grow up. We learn new things on how to improve our lives.

According to the 1948 WHO (World Health Organization) definition, “Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity”

So this may also mean that improving our health goes beyond the physical and psychological aspect of our life.

So if there are any negative habits that we have formed, are we ready to change them?  We should not allow our past to define our present and neither our future.

EAT RIGHT

This is easier said than done.

However, we can start small, we can be aware of what we put into our mouth.  Let’s start watching what we eat,

REVITALIZE THE MIND AND BODY

through

RELAXING & RECHARGING ACTIVITIES

to

NURTURING YOUR MIND & BODY

There are several activities we can do to make this happen.

What do you think about yoga, meditation, and other sports?  Anything to make you relax, rest and smile.  A hearty laugh with friends may even be better.

This digital world made almost everything available to us in just one click. We just have to choose what will resonate with us.

TEACH YOUR MIND AND BODY TO HAVE A GOOD HABIT

It may take a lot of time and effort to do these. Don’t lose heart. You can start now. Yes, now. That is better than regretting having not tried at all. Surprise yourself.

So...

Are you up to the challenge? Let’s PREVENT!
