Research indicates that inhaling rosemary oil helps prevent the breakdown of acetylcholine, a brain chemical important for thinking, concentration and memory.
Some research looked at how the smell of rosemary affects cognition. Participants were exposed to the aroma of rosemary while performing visual processing tasks and serial subtraction tasks. With higher amounts of the rosemary aroma, both speed and accuracy in the tasks increased.
Other research suggests that breathing rosemary and other essential oils may improve brain function in older adults with dementia, including those with Alzheimer’s disease.
Lavender essential oil is known for its ability to promote a calm and relaxing mindset, which can help to improve focus and concentration indirectly. By calming nervousness and reducing stress, Lavender oil can help to promote clearer thinking and improved concentration. The relaxing qualities of lavender oil can help those with an overactive mind or ADHD to reduce hyperactivity and focus on what is important at hand.
Tangerine Oil has calming effect. It works as a relaxing agent by soothing agitated nerves. It also reduces tension as well as emotional imbalances. It also works as a sedative by relieving anxiety, depression and nervousness.
